The fraction of Corniglia is part of the town of Vernazza in the province of La Spezia and is a locality that is part of Cinque Terre. It is centrally located in relation to other centres of the Cinque Terre, located east of the municipal seat, Vernazza that joins the suggestive promenade halfway up between the summit and the sea. Indeed differs from the other countries of the Cinque Terre as the only village is not situated directly on the sea, but is on top of a promontory high about one hundred metres surrounded by vineyards except in the side that looks towards the sea. The center develops along the path that leads from Fieschi parish of St. Peter until the terrace of Santa Maria. Under the yard of the church can be found in front of a house some remains of medieval architecture including some sculptures.
